JOE & THE JUICE to open a café at Copenhagen Airport

JOE & THE JUICE opened its first café in 2002 and is now one of Denmark’s most successful café concepts with 15 cafés in different locations in Demark, including in Copenhagen, Odense and Aarhus, and outside Denmark in Gothenburg, Sweden and London, England. Passengers at Copenhagen Airport now also have the chance to load up on energy from the café’s freshly squeezed juices, delicious sandwiches and high-quality coffee.

“The café fits well with Copenhagen Airport’s role as a gateway to the world and offers travellers the best of Denmark. JOE & THE JUICE and is a good example of this, said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales, Copenhagen Airports A/S and continued: “The opening of a café is in line with CPH’s strategy of continuously adapting our services to the wishes and demands of the various passenger groups using the airport. Our passenger surveys tell us that passengers equally appreciate the opportunity to shop for expensive and exclusive products and to find more inexpensive alternatives. Offering competitive prices and healthy food and beverages, JOE & THE JUICE is an important contributor to a good balance in the mix of shops and brands at Copenhagen Airport, and we expect the café to be well received.

The founder and owner of JOE & THE JUICE, Kaspar Basse, also sees it as a very logical step to open a café at Copenhagen Airport. As a former elite athlete, he is used to focusing on nutrition: “Many people pass through the airport every day who may have trouble finding healthy and nutritious food when they travel. Moreover, airline passengers are exposed to high pressure in the air, which disturbs their fluid balance etc. The juice line at JOE will be a fantastic tool for travellers to keep their energy level high and even out their fluid balance etc.

Recharging your batteries in a pleasant atmosphere
The opening of the JOE & THE JUICE café at Copenhagen Airport will offer travellers an opportunity to recharge their batteries in a pleasant and dynamic atmosphere, which Kaspar Basse thinks fits very well with CPH:

“We have for a long time been interested in setting up business at the airport. Our dynamic atmosphere, which is sometimes even seen as a ‘playground fits very well with the dynamic atmosphere at Copenhagen Airport, where many people are very busy and members of staff use micro-scooters or small carts.", he added.

JOE’s juice is highly reputed for having been developed based on thorough knowledge of vitamins and minerals in fruit and vegetables and knowledge about the composition of the best flavour combinations. Similarly, JOE’s sandwiches are all made to order using carefully selected ingredients. Finally, the two variants of high-quality coffee, ‘Wild Berries and ‘JOE's Spro are made from coffee beans prepared by former world champions in coffee brewing and tasting. Kaspar Basse considers this approach to ‘fast food “diametrically opposite to other ‘fast-food concepts, saying: “Our ambition of combining quick delivery with an optimal level of quality is a unique feature at JOE & THE JUICE.
