Departure and arrivals information as well as a map of the terminals, those are some of the new travel information features available in the new CPH iPhone app. The new platform is to make passengers travel experience more relaxed.
“We want to meet our passengers on the move, and the iPhone is one of the most widely used mobile technological platforms. We also know that many of our passengers look for information at home, on their way to the airport, and when they are at the airport. Using the new iPhone, people can get information anywhere," said Iben Eiby-Johannesen, Brand Equity Director, Copenhagen Airports.
Dialogue with passengers
You can download the application from the Apple App Store, either via iTunes or directly to your iPhone. The application is called "CPH Airport". You can use the app to check flight times, get information on departures and arrivals, see a map of shops, eateries and walking distances, book and pay for parking and register for the CPH newsletter. As a new feature passengers are invited to comment on shops and eateries and grade them by stars.
“The new app gives us a new, innovative platform for maintaining a dialogue with our passengers. We are interested in knowing what passengers think about us so that we can collaborate with the concessionaires at the shopping centre to enhance the products, if needed," said Iben Eiby-Johannesen.
Focus on mobile innovation
“We have elected to focus on an app built especially for the iPhone this time. But it could, for instance, be for Android next time. Surveys show that you get the best solution by focusing on one platform at a time rather than one solution for two different platforms, Eiby-Johannesen added.
Copenhagen Airport launched m.cph.dk in January 2010, a mobile mini version of the CPH website. The site is designed for easier viewing on small screens such as mobile phones. 8,000-10,000 users visit the site per week. Copenhagen Airport hopes and expects that even more people will download the new iPhone application.
The CPH application has been developed in collaboration with Danish software company Novasa.
