The National capital of the United States will thus become the 2nd U.S. destination served by the airline’s super jumbo, after New York, launched one year ago.

In June 2011, Air France will thus operate the A380 airplane to 5 destinations out of Paris-Charles de Gaulle : New York-JFK, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Montreal and Washington dulles airport.

Air France’s A380 is currently equipped with 538 seats, divided between three classes: La Première (First), with 9 seats on the main deck, Business class comprising 80 seats on the upper deck, and Voyageur (Economy), with 449 seats divided between the two decks. Starting next summer 2011, the A380s will be progressively equipped with Premium economy, situated between the Business and Voyageur cabins, offering 9 seats in Première, 80 in Business, 38 in Premium Voyageur and 389 in Voyageur.

To enjoy a drink, relax or chat with friends or family, each cabin on the A380 has its own bars, including one exclusively reserved for La Première customers, two in the Affaires cabin and three in the Voyageur cabin. Throughout the flight, these bars offer all A380 passengers the chance to meet up over a drink and a snack, which are available depending on the flight time.
Air France is the first airline in the world to equip each seat in the Affaires and Voyageur cabins with a USB socket, enabling passengers to download contents such as flight schedules, information on Air France, destination guides, games for children, relaxation videos and podcasts.
