Delta airlines adds route to Leon, Mexico

Delta airlines expanded West Coast gateway to Mexico and Latin America at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with non-stop flights to the Guanajuato city of León, Mexico. The new flights to León are the latest addition to a series of more than 10 new non-stop Mexican destinations served by Delta and the Delta Connection carriers from Los Angeles.

Located in the geographic center of Mexico, León is the largest city in the state of Guanajuato. Known as the Shoe Capital of Mexico, this dynamic commercial center relies heavily on the leather industry that produces shoes, belts, jackets and other accessories for sale in Mexico and around the world. Travelers to León can now explore the town on the new rapid bus transportation system called, the Optibus, the first of its kind in Mexico.

Delta’s expansion to Mexico and Latin America is the latest in a series of efforts to further enhance service for Hispanic travelers by offering more flight options that connect U.S. Hispanic customers to their favorite destinations. Some of the newest Latin American and Mexico destinations Delta serves from Los Angeles include: Guatemala City, Guatemala, Liberia, Costa Rica, Torreon, Mexico, Tijuana, Mexico (starting June 7)** and Zacatecas, Mexico (starting June 8)**.

To celebrate the new service to León, Delta is offering a special low rate from Los Angeles to León of $99* one-way for tickets purchased through June 5, 2007 at delta.com or through a travel agent.
